Our Thanksgiving pie came out just about perfect, but, alas, there was not enough of it. That’s probably because there are so many of us. So, I made another. Alas, this one, while beautiful, did not come out as well. We ate it all up anyway. I’ll have to keep trying till I get it right. Practice makes perfect, you know. And possibly overweight.

BEAUTIFUL!!!
I have an award for you, come see
Oh my … that is a very pretty pie!
I’m so jealous right now! I’ve been trying to make a pie that looks like that for several years straight, and for some reason, my crust never turns out good enough, and falls apart.
I love your pie, though, it’s beautiful.
For the falling apart, it may be that you aren’t putting in quite enough water. Try adding a little more, so that your dough all sticks together really well when you shape it into a ball in your hands. As for the prettiness, I brushed it with an egg wash and sprinkled it with sugar.
“practice makes portly” perhaps? (But WHAT a PRETTY pie!)
Ha! I like that, Stephanie!
