Sunflower Girl

Penny-001

I know it was probably a bad idea.  I mean, do I really need one more time-consuming hobby?  But I did it anyway.  I read all the reviews, made up my mind, and purchased a copy of My Memories Suite.  It was a cloudy night so the DSL was running a little slow.  I clicked “Download” and went to bed.  When I woke in the morning, my new addiction was waiting for me.

And may I just say:  OH, MY GOODNESS, THIS IS FUN!

I made this page this morning, in between chores and meals and child-care and husband chats.  It’s simple, I know, my first try at anything like this ever, but I LOVE it!  I can’t wait to put together a whole book!

Even Davey’s intrigued.  He’s got his own war stories to tell.  Complete with photographs.

I have had a few different programs. The were supposed to be easy but lacked many things. And adding papers from another sorce was difficult.

Maybe I will try this one. If you would like some free papers and embelishments sign up at scrapgirls.com for their free newsletter. There is one a day and there is a freebie down toward the bottom of the newsletter.

Page about Penelope is adorable. Sometimes simple is better. Also pchugclub has some scrapables – you know how to get there.

Love you and I think I will go buy this now.

I hope you like it! There are instructions for putting in new stuff here. Basically, you just have to manually put them into the program files, which is mildly annoying, I reckon, but not too hard.

I deleted all my pchugclub stuff because, really, using it was theft, since you are the one who purchased the rights to use all that cute stuff. I hate when somebody lifts my photographs or posts. :-) I might purchase a few things there, though…later. I haven’t even explored all the freebies yet!

Ooohhh…I need to lookinto this!! I scrapbook but haven’t in over a year because by the time I drag out the amazing amount of stuff it takes I am worn out and my free time is spent.

See, now, that’s why I never scrapbooked. Also, it’s kind of expensive. And I have trouble with commitment. What if I stick something down and then decide I don’t like it there?! With the digital stuff, I can just inch it around till I’m happy. :-)

That is awesome!! Great for a first page! I’ve gotten all my stuff for free so far, I searched ‘free digital scrapbook kit’ and found quite a few. Shabby Princess has some pretty cool kits :) But you are so right, I don’t need another time consuming hobby!!

Oh yes. You can totally scrapbook w/o paying a dime. GIMP is a free image editing program that supports layers. And there is no end to free scrapbooking supplies. Summertime Designs is a another great site for freebies. I’m looking forward to more layouts from you!
