I finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and loved it for the same reason I loved The Kite Runner
: I walked away feeling like I understood a little bit of what it is like to be an Afghan. However, the ending was terrible. Sometimes, it’s not the best course to tie up all the loose ends in the last twenty pages. Life is full of loose ends and in a book that was supposed to be true-to-life, a few loose ends left dangling, unresolved, would have been just fine. The ending aside, though, it was a great read, one I stayed up late to finish.
