I am the mother of seven children, five girls and two boys, ranging in age from fifteen to two.
We homeschool purely for love, because I can’t abide the thought of strangers getting the very best of my childrens’ days, while I get only the leftovers at the ends.
We use the Mother of Divine Grace curriculum, after a fashion. I’ve never been one to let well enough alone.
I am married sixteen years to David, a career soldier coming now to the end. Our time with the Army has been sometimes fun, sometimes heartbreaking, always challenging. I wouldn’t give up a single day of this life we’ve had, but I’m glad to be leaving it behind, too.
We are Roman Catholic, faithful to the Magisterium, at least as well as we can be. We’re always learning, and we often discover that the voice of the world, which is so easy to follow, is not leading us, really, where we want to go. I tell you this so you know we’re not perfect. We’re not saints. But we’re striving!
We’re lately moved to a farm in Kentucky, not too far from Fort Knox, Radcliff, Elizabethtown, Louisville, or Corydon, Indiana. We have New Hampshire Red and Black Jersey Giant chickens who provide us with meat and eggs, and Jersey cows who provide us with fresh milk. In the not-too-distant future, we plan to add sheep and pigs and to grow our herd of cows in order to provide milk for other families. We also hope to successfully grow a garden, but we don’t have green thumbs here.
If you are interested in purchasing meat from pastured animals, farm fresh eggs, or a share of a cow, please contact us.
What else?
I’m pretty good with a hula hoop and I love to swing very high. My kids think I’m an amazing artist. My friend brags that I’m a photographer. I cook. I sew. I knit. I write. I do laundry. Lots and lots of laundry.
And I’m happy.
